Time Control: Games are 15 minutes + 5-second increments from Move 1. [I.e., 15+5]
Format is a “Swiss Teams” System.
The winning team of each category qualifies for the national tournament. If there are 20 or more teams in a category, that category receives a second qualification place; if there are 30 or more teams in a category, that category receives three qualification places. [No single school shall win more than one qualification spot in a category.]
All players will receive participation certificates.

ACA Tournament Rules
Players must be in the same order throughout the tournament (i.e., best player on board 1, worst player on board 4; or board 5 if you have a reserve).
The decision of the Arbiter is final.
Each school must provide an adult to supervise and organise their team during the event.
If there are more than 1 team per school, matches may be played between two teams from the same school.
Illegal moves will not have time penalties. However, up to 3 warnings will be issued, wherein the 3ʳᵈ will result in the player losing the game.
The winner will be decided according to the points & tie-breaks criteria specified in the NZCF Competition Rules.
